War is the Absence of Imagination
THURSDAy 28 APRIL 2022, 7.00-10.00PM
An evening of poetry, politics, and music held in a hope to temper the impulse toward militarism all too prevalent right now. Let our solidarity with the victims of the invasion of Ukraine be an opportunity to galvanise people to come together in solidarity with all victims of war.
This fundraising event helped to raise funds for Migrants Organise, platform for migrants and refugees to organise for power, dignity, and justice. They provide invaluable legal and economic support to migrants, and build grassroots campaigns to force change and expose the U.K’s brutal treatment of migrants.
Fragile Borders, Fragile Bodies
FRIDAy 8 APRIL 2022, 6.30-9.00PM
Join authors Miranda Gold, Alice Jolly, Fran Lock, and Ana Seferovic for Fragile Borders, Fragile Bodies at The Tabernacle Church, London.
In a discussion chaired by Jacqui Lofthouse, Founder of The Writing Coach, we will explore the space literature can offer amidst the current crisis. In bringing together a diversity of voices, genres, and cross-cultural experiences, we will be coming together in solidarity to offer support to those fleeing violence.
Drawing on parallel stories historically and geographically, the readings and panel discussion will seek a compassionate, nuanced response to collective trauma, inherited memory and the refugee experience, issues which have been brought so starkly into focus by recent events.
